MaryAnn Titus is an
artist, writer, and teacher in service of imagery and metaphor.
Delighted by an unexpected twist to a line, visual or literary, she is
drawn to the juxtaposition of unlikely elements. A retired public school
teacher, she understands how diversity strengthens the whole. Although
she arrived at art quilting later in life, her work has evolved in
content and technique. After learning the basics of pieced work from
several kind and patient teachers, she developed a preference for raw
edge collage. Working quickly and spontaneously, she translates emotions
heightened by music and flowing from subjects that matter to her. Her
work has been called “spiritually complex,” and “emotionally rich.” She
is blessed with an understanding husband, three adult children with
understanding spouses, seven beyond perfect grandchildren, and
some good and generous friends. Her golden retriever, Pure Faith, keeps
her grounded and walking.
MaryAnn Titus, artist
and friend, we will miss you.
